Dear Career Discovery Participant,
Although most of your explorations during Career Discovery will be analog you will you will have access to a variety of software and hardware to support your studio projects and design research.
From your personal computer you can connect to the “GSD” network (either wired or wirelessly). Here you will have access to download and install a variety of software; the same software available to matriculating graduate students. In Gund Hall you will also find a handful of computer labs, each fully loaded with Design software (convenient for casual use). You will also have access to high-resolution graphics printers. Several scanners including wide format are also available to capture digital images of your drawings and mock-ups. A photo lab complete with backdrop and professional lighting is provided to photograph your models.
The Career Discovery Media Coordinator will be located near your work area. In the afternoon and early evening, they will be available to help with technical issues. Scanning, printing, photography equipment and lighting will all be located in close proximity to the Media Coordinator. You are also welcome to visit our walk-in support center, which is located in Gund Hall L19 (lower level of Loeb Library).
We hope you enjoy your experience at the Design School!
