Directions and Parking
Story and Shaw Halls – 12 Everett Street, Cambridge, MA 02138
Parking is extremely limited in the Cambridge area and most roads, such as Everett Street, require city permits for parking every day of the week except for Sundays. If arriving on Saturday, please be sure someone accompanies you and is able to stay with your vehicle as you unload.
If parking is needed for longer than 15 minutes, you should consider purchase a half day or full day pass to the 52 Oxford St parking garage, which is located a block away from the HLS campus. This is the closest and cheapest parking option. A full day’s pass on the weekend is $8, but passes MUST be purchased in advance. You can purchase a parking pass here: https://onedaypermit.vpcs.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/permit/purchase.pl. When registering for a pass, please use Graduate School of Design for the Department and 1001 for the Department Code.
If you do not purchase a pass in advance, there are a number of parking garages in Harvard Square that can be used for an hourly rate:
Holyoke Center Parking Garage, 617.723.1488, 1350 Massachusetts Ave, just off Harvard Square between Massachusetts Ave and Mt. Auburn St. Enter on Holyoke St.
Harvard Square Parking Garage, 617.491.0298, 1 Bennett Street, Cambridge
Shipping Packages Ahead of Move In
We understand, before the program it may be necessary to ship large packages with items needed for the duration of your stay. We recommend using FedEx (www.fedex.com) as an option to send these large packages. The FedEx Cambridge location, which is located a few blocks from the dormitories, will hold packages for pick-up at the store.
